Big Al's
Making Healthy Food Taste Great
Since 1972
Since 1972
Big Al’s has been a Tulsa staple for subs and smoothies since 1972. Under new ownership, the brand needed a visual refresh that honored its history while modernizing its presence.
I updated the primary graphics and redesigned the in‑store menu system to create a cleaner, more scan‑friendly customer experience.
This project balances preserving a local legacy with preparing it for a modern audience.
Logo
The original design files were lost over the decades, so the goal was to modernize the graphics while staying true to the original concept.
Older version using outdated colors and confusing shapes that suggest an assorted group of vegetables.
The new logo reconstructs the original layout using updated vectorS and a modern color.
Next step is to work out the graphic for letterhead, media ads etc...

Mock-up
The old layout was confusing and outdated.
The new menus are cleaner, easier to read,
and positioned to help customers move through the line without losing their place.
Each panel above uses a different background to encourage movement to the register, while the menu layout stays consistent.
That contrast creates a natural flow, easy to scan, but still fun and fresh.
